AEW Presents Special 'Rebel Heart' Dynamite Honoring Tanea Brooks and Raising ALS Awareness

AEW presented a special "Rebel Heart" edition of Dynamite on September 9 from the Akins Ford Arena at the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia, dedicated to honoring longtime AEW personality Tanea "Rebel" Brooks and raising awareness of ALS. The company said the night would benefit the organizations I AM ALS and Team Gleason, and it marked Rebel's return to television following her ALS diagnosis.

As part of the show, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Rebel revived their talk-show segment The Waiting Room, which the pair originally hosted during AEW's early-pandemic run at Daily's Place, welcoming guests including TBS Champion Persephone and Hikaru Shida. The card also featured a World Championship Eliminator between AEW World Champion Will Ospreay and David Finlay, a World Trios Championship defense by Swerve Strickland and The New Level against The Conglomeration, a Tables Match pitting The Young Bucks against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight, and the AEW in-ring debut of Steven Borden alongside Darby Allin.

The emotionally charged episode came as AEW continued to mourn Andy "The Butcher" Williams, with a celebration of life for the late wrestler announced for September 27.
