All Elite Wrestling presented a special Grand Slam Mexico edition of Dynamite on Wednesday, August 5, live from the historic Arena Mexico in Mexico City. The stacked card was headlined by Will Ospreay versus Mark Davis in a Mexico City Street Fight and also featured Kyle Fletcher defending the AEW International Championship against Speedball Mike Bailey, and The Demand defending the World Trios Championship against Hangman Page, Bandido and Brody King.
In the opener, the Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia and PAC) defeated the team of Christian Cage, Adam Copeland and the Young Bucks after Moxley pinned Copeland amid outside interference. In a triple threat to determine the number one entrant in the Casino Gauntlet at All In London, Andrade El Idolo pinned Komander after also outlasting Tommaso Ciampa.
Andrade's celebration was cut short when MJF stormed the ring, attacked him with the Triple B title belt and reclaimed his Dynamite Diamond ring, reinserting himself into the AEW World Championship picture ahead of All In. The lucha-heavy special, spotlighting CMLL and AEW talent, continued the promotion's international build toward its Wembley Stadium event.
