The Motor City Machine Guns, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin, opened the July 30 episode of AEW Collision in their hometown of Detroit to announce that they have officially signed with All Elite Wrestling. Speaking from the ring at the Masonic Temple Theater, Sabin asked the crowd, "Did you not think we would be here?" while Shelley told fans the veteran tandem was home.
The announcement secures the future of one of the most decorated tag teams of the modern era with AEW. Elsewhere on the same broadcast, Tony Schiavone revealed details of the AEW Continental Cup, a 16-man tournament set to conclude at AEW All In, while The Demand retained the AEW Trios Championships over The Rascalz.
The signing landed during a busy stretch for both major promotions ahead of AEW All In at Wembley Stadium and WWE SummerSlam. AEW has also confirmed that the men's Casino Gauntlet match returns at All In, with the winner earning a future AEW World Championship opportunity.
