Blue Panther

Blue Panther is the Maestro Lagunero — lucha libre's greatest living technician, wrestling since 1978 and still teaching masterclasses at Arena México past age 60. His llave-style submission wrestling preserves a vanishing art: the intricate, chain-based lucha de apuestas style of the sport's golden age.

His 1997 mask loss to Villano III at the Anniversary Show ranks among lucha's most storied matches, and his decades since — including title reigns, trios runs with his sons, and annual singles showcases that outclass wrestlers a third his age — built a reverence unique in Mexican wrestling.

When Blue Panther wrestles, Arena México chants maestro. There is no higher lucha honor. WrestleRanks voters rank him accordingly: the professor emeritus, still holding office hours.
