EVIL is New Japan's designated agent of chaos — the King of Darkness whose scythe entrance, Everything is Evil catchphrase and shameless interference-first style have made him the promotion's most reliably booed man. Fans' frustration is the point: EVIL wins ugly, often, and on purpose.

His 2020 betrayal of Los Ingobernables de Japon to join Bullet Club — capped by winning the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental double championship from Tetsuya Naito — remains one of New Japan's biggest shocks. Leading the House of Torture with Dick Togo's ever-present garrote wire, he has collected NEVER and tag gold through methods best described as legally questionable.
