Mercedes Martinez

Mercedes Martinez is women's wrestling's iron matriarch — a 25-year veteran whose fisherman-buster toughness predates and outlasts every women's revolution she helped make possible. The Puerto Rican powerhouse from Connecticut wrestled the independents when women's matches were bathroom breaks, and forced the change match by match.

Her resume spans SHIMMER's foundational era, WWE's Mae Young Classics, and a late-career ROH Women's World Championship reign that proved the standard never aged. Matches against Athena, Willow Nightingale and generations of students-turned-opponents carry teacher's authority.
