Místico

Místico is the most important luchador of the 21st century — the silver-masked phenomenon who became, at his mid-2000s peak, the biggest box-office draw in the world. Trained by Fray Tormenta, the real-life wrestling priest, he packed Arena México weekly as CMLL's flying golden boy, and his La Mística finisher became lucha libre's signature modern move.

His WWE run as the original Sin Cara proved a difficult translation, but his eventual return to CMLL — and reclamation of the Místico name in 2021 — restored the natural order. The second act has been remarkable: leading CMLL's international resurgence, headlining against Hechicero and Volador Jr., and introducing himself to new audiences through the AEW partnership.

Twenty years after his debut, children still wear his mask in the front rows of Arena México. WrestleRanks voters rank Místico as living lucha history — the prince of silver and gold, still flying.
