Stephanie Vaquer Dethrones Liv Morgan For WWE Women's World Championship In Chile

Stephanie Vaquer captured the WWE Women's World Championship, defeating Liv Morgan at a WWE live event on September 12 in her native Chile. The finish came with special guest referee Becky Lynch declining to count a Morgan pinfall, allowing Vaquer to capitalize and claim a world title in front of her home crowd.

The victory ends Morgan's reign and gives Vaquer, who broke through in NXT before advancing to the main roster, her first WWE world championship. She is scheduled to appear as champion on the September 14 episode of Monday Night Raw, held at Arena CDMX in Mexico City as WWE's Netflix flagship continued a run through Latin America.

That Raw card was headlined by Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Penta, who earned his shot by winning a number one contenders tournament, with Chad Gable also set to defend the Intercontinental Title against Dragon Lee. Separately, former WWE star Ilja Dragunov is reported to be expected to sign with AEW.
