Stephanie Vaquer captured the WWE Women's World Championship on Saturday, September 12, defeating Liv Morgan at an untelevised WWE live event held at Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. The victory, in front of a hometown crowd in her native country, begins Vaquer's second reign with the title.
Becky Lynch served as special guest referee and played a decisive role in the finish. Morgan appeared to have the match won after hitting Oblivion, but Lynch stopped her count short and refused to complete the three-count. Vaquer capitalized on the confusion, connecting with the SVB and following with the Vaquer Inferno to secure the pin and the championship.
The title change capped a notable weekend for WWE. Days earlier, Sami Zayn defeated CM Punk on SmackDown in Mexico City to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship for a second time, following heavy interference involving Kevin Owens, Johnny Gargano, and Candice LeRae.
