Gunther

Gunther is the most dominant pure wrestler WWE has presented in years. The Austrian Ring General, formerly known as WALTER on the European independent scene and in NXT UK, built his reputation on chest-caving chops, suffocating control and an aura of legitimate menace.

His 666-day Intercontinental Championship reign broke a record that had stood since the 1980s, elevating the title with matches against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre — including a Clash at the Castle triple threat widely considered one of the best WWE matches of its decade. Leading the faction Imperium, he treats wrestling as sacred and opponents as unworthy.

Gunther captured the World Heavyweight Championship in 2024, confirming his place at the top of the card. WrestleRanks voters rate him among the most consistent big-match performers on the roster — when Gunther has a match, it matters.
