Mr. Iguana

Mr. Iguana is lucha libre's most unlikely international sensation — the green-masked eccentric from AAA whose reptilian gimmick, gymnastic talent and beloved stuffed iguana companion La Yesca turned him into a viral phenomenon and merchandise machine.

Years of solid AAA undercard work preceded the explosion: crowd chants, social media ubiquity and showcase matches that revealed legitimate high-flying chops beneath the comedy. Lucha has always made room for the absurd; Iguana modernized the tradition for the clip era.
