Wrestler Profile

Ric Flair

Ric Flair is the most decorated world champion in wrestling history, officially recognized with 16 world title reigns and unofficially credited with more. The Nature Boy was the standard-bearer of the NWA throughout the 1980s, defending the Ten Pounds of Gold in hour-long broadways across every territory in America.

Flair's limousine-riding, jet-flying persona set the archetype for every cocky heel who followed, and his Four Horsemen faction essentially invented the modern wrestling stable. His rivalries with Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes and Sting produced some of the most acclaimed matches ever, and his 1992 Royal Rumble victory — winning the WWF title from the number three spot — remains a masterclass.

Flair's emotional retirement match against Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV was meant to close the book, though he famously wrestled again. Woo-ing crowds for over 50 years, Flair remains an all-time fixture in WrestleRanks voting.

Promotions

Ric Flair is associated with WWE (1991–2008) and WCW (defunct) (1991–2001).
